Tips for Making Homemade Creamed Corn
- You can use frozen or canned corn. When using frozen, make sure corn is thawed.
- If you are serving a crowd (more than 4 people), you will want to double the recipe.
- This recipe is easy to adapt. You can add heat with jalapeños and cayenne pepper. Crumbled bacon sprinkled on top is great.
- For less sweet, you can reduce the sugar or leave it out.
- Be sure to drain the corn well, both canned and frozen (if using steamer corn).

- fresh cracked black pepper and salt to taste
How to Make Creamed Corn
In a small bowl or measuring cup, whisk milk and flour and set aside.
In a medium size skillet (10 inch skillet), over medium heat – add whipping cream, seasoned salt, pepper, sugar, garlic powder and butter, mixing as the butter melts.
Once butter has melted, stir in corn and then add the milk/flour mixture.
Continue stirring over medium heat, allowing the sauce to thicken and corn to cook through – this takes just a few minutes.
Remove from heat and add the Parmesan cheese. Stir in the cheese until completely melted and evenly combined.
Season with fresh cracked pepper and salt to taste. Enjoy!
