Ingredients Needed to Make Easy Baked Wings
- 3 pounds of wings
- favorite barbecue sauce (homemade or store bought)
- salt and pepper
How to Make Chicken Wings in the Oven
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Pat dry chicken well. Bend each wing, tucking the tip under the large joint, forming a triangle. *If some don’t want to stay, don’t worry, just leave as is. PLEASE NOTE – Patting the chicken dry is an important step for crispy chicken wings!
Next, salt and pepper both sides of wings. Place wings in a single layer in a roasting pan or on a baking sheet, bake on the middle rack of the oven for 40–45 minutes, until golden brown, flipping wings once midway through baking.
The secret to great oven baked wings is adding the sauce at the end!
For a quick clean-up, line the pan with parchment paper.
When ready, remove wings from oven and drain any fat. Baste wings with barbecue sauce on both sides, return to oven and bake for 10 minutes. Last, turn wings over and bake an additional 10 minutes. Remove and enjoy!
Baked chicken wings make a great meal, an awesome appetizer or side. Celery and carrots are a classic pairing. Serve them with a side of BBQ sauce, blue cheese or ranch dressing. Wings go well with salads, breadsticks, pizza, burgers, sandwiches, macaroni and cheese and more.
The key to making crispy wings in the oven is to make sure you pat them dry well with paper towel and adding the sauce at the end.
Do not skip patting the chicken dry...this is an important step!
I love sweet and tangy barbecue sauce, but you can use other favorite chicken and BBQ sauces, like buffalo and teriyaki sauce and more!
