Technically, Miracle Whip is not mayonnaise – but to many people it is…so it’s included. I grew up referring to Miracle Whip as mayo, using it like mayo. Here is the reason it’s TECHNICALLY not mayo: Miracle Whip Vs. Mayonnaise
My favorite sandwich growing up was super soft white Wonder bread, a slice of American cheese and both sides of the bread with a layer of Miracle Whip. The BEST cheese sandwich.
After sharing my Tomato Sandwich post yesterday, many people left comments on Facebook stating I should use Duke’s Mayo, NOT Hellmann’s. I grew up in Michigan and never heard of Duke’s Mayonnaise, it wasn’t even available in stores. I only learned about Duke’s when I started blogging and following southern food bloggers. When I moved to Georgia a few months ago, the first thing on my list was to purchase some Duke’s mayo, to find out what the fuss was all about…and I must say, I prefer Hellmann’s. I’m sure those are some fighting words. Ha!
Even though I prefer Hellmann’s over Duke’s, I recently purchased Duke’s Tartar Sauce – HOLY SMOKES IT’S SO DARN GOOD!! The best tartar sauce I’ve ever purchased, better than most homemade!! If you see this in the store, grab a jar, you can thank me later.
Thanks for stopping!
Cheers!

I'm from the South. I didn't hear about Duke's until an adult, but had to try. Doesn't hold a candle to Hellman's! I grew up on Kraft, my Dad always had to have Miracle Whip in the house(It's not mayonnaise, a whole other ballgame!) Once I had Hellman's, that settles it…bring out the Hellman's and bring out the best!!!

Miracle Whip, but I also like Hellmann's. MUST BE ON A COLD SANDWICH! Don't even attempt to put it on a hot chicken Sammy!

Hellmans lite or Kroger lite. Tastes exactly the same, costs less. My mother always used Miracle Whip-yuck

I grew up on Hellman's and refuse to change. If I buy a hero sandwich and they don't have Hellman's I won't buy it or wait and eat it at home.

I have never had Duke's. I use Best Foods (Hellman's) and Miracle Whip depending on what I'm making. My friends always request my deviled eggs and for that it's Miracle Whip Light all the way! I grew up with Miracle Whip but I love Hellman's!

I grew up on Hellmann's. Once I moved to Florida, it's been Dukes. There is no comparison, Duke's is #1.

Dukes all the way baby. And for those saying they can't find it in stores, don't order it from Amazon. Go the the Duke's site directly. You can get 4 quart plastic jars for $22 including shipping.
