Technically, Miracle Whip is not mayonnaise – but to many people it is…so it’s included. I grew up referring to Miracle Whip as mayo, using it like mayo. Here is the reason it’s TECHNICALLY not mayo: Miracle Whip Vs. Mayonnaise
My favorite sandwich growing up was super soft white Wonder bread, a slice of American cheese and both sides of the bread with a layer of Miracle Whip. The BEST cheese sandwich.
After sharing my Tomato Sandwich post yesterday, many people left comments on Facebook stating I should use Duke’s Mayo, NOT Hellmann’s. I grew up in Michigan and never heard of Duke’s Mayonnaise, it wasn’t even available in stores. I only learned about Duke’s when I started blogging and following southern food bloggers. When I moved to Georgia a few months ago, the first thing on my list was to purchase some Duke’s mayo, to find out what the fuss was all about…and I must say, I prefer Hellmann’s. I’m sure those are some fighting words. Ha!
Even though I prefer Hellmann’s over Duke’s, I recently purchased Duke’s Tartar Sauce – HOLY SMOKES IT’S SO DARN GOOD!! The best tartar sauce I’ve ever purchased, better than most homemade!! If you see this in the store, grab a jar, you can thank me later.
Thanks for stopping!
Cheers!

Hellman's for sure. I grew up in Houston TX and my mom used Miracle Whip. I swear I was 18 and on my own before I knew what real Mayo was. I've tasted Blue Plate, Kraft, Dukes, numerous store brands, homemade and some I can't remember the the names of. All and all Hellman's satisfies my tastebuds.

Duke's all the way. I import it in to California.

In all my 82 years I'd never heard of Dukes until just now. I grew up on Miracle Whip and detested it even as a child
#1. Kraft
#2. Hellmann
#3. Best Foods
When making sandwiches for a crowd, I put out Kraft Mayo and also a small MW for those who like it, but also 3 kinds of mustard, and even catsup and Thousand Island Dressing for those who prefer it. (But to my taste is Yuko!!)

I like Dukes, it's alittle sweet but nice and thick.

Dukes all the way!! During the early years of our marriage, my dear husband wanted me to buy a less expensive brand of mayo. It took a while to convince him that there were a few things worth spending the extra money on for the brand name. Dukes mayo, Jif peanut butter, andTide detergent.

We have no Dukes up north. Hellmann's is my choice
