The recipe makes a good amount of sauce, so I was able to make a spaghetti dinner one night and lasagna the next. The sauce is amazing in lasagna.

    Ingredients

    • 2 pounds Italian sausage (casings removed – hot or mild sausage)
    • 1 small onion, chopped (optional)
    • 3–4 cloves of garlic, minced
    • 28 oz can diced tomatoes
    • 2 (6 oz cans) tomato paste
    • 2 (15 ounce cans) tomato sauce
    • 2 cups water (adjust water for simmering times – less water for shorter time)
    • 3 teaspoons basil
    • 2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
    • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground cracked pepper

OMG I have to say this the best sauce I’ve ever made, we loved it.
The only thing I did different is I used Red Wine Vinegar instead of wine(we don’t drink wine) a good kind I think.
The other thing is I cooked my garlic with my onion, oh yeah one more I used half and half. Half sausage & half hamburger. I LOVE ❤️ THIS SAUCE!!!
Will definitely be a keeper, can’t wait to make Lasagna with the leftovers.

Well you didn’t make that sauce as you stated, you made your sauce. Also, you don’t have to be a wine drinker to use wine in recipes. And by the way you mentioned “the only thing I did different” turned out to be 4 things you did different.

Thank you, wish I could buy little bottles that way it doesn’t go to waste. But thank you for the alternative.

You can buy little bottles of wine. They come in a cardboard carrier like a 6 pack of beer, only comes in a 4 pack.

I can testify that this is the BEST Spaghetti Sauce on he planet. I use 1 lb sausage & 1 lb ground beef but that is the only change I make. Once I made it with all ground beef because we had guests that don’t eat pork and it was just as good. For those of you who have jumped on the Instant Pot bandwagon, 10 min is all it takes.
