Today’s tried & true recipe is another great one from my sister’s kitchen in Anchorage, Alaska. The recipe can be found on, A Big Mouthful, A Jam Class – Strawberry Jam with Aged Balsamic and Black Pepper. This is a new family favorite and rivals my other favorite jam, Strawberry Rhubarb. This sounds like a grown up jam, but everyone, including the kids, absolutely loves it.

I know it’s mid January and strawberry picking season is several months away….SAVE this recipe and make it this summer!

Note
I found a similar recipe on epicurious with awesome reviews. The recipe has a 4 out 4 fork rating and 95% stating they would make it again. This recipe makes a smaller amount (you only need about a pint of strawberries) and also does not call for pectin. Strawberry Preserves with Black Pepper and Balsamic Vinegar. I hope to make this one soon, if I do, I’ll be sure to share my results.
