Today’s share is another nostalgic one, an old school favorite drink for many – Roy Rogers Kiddie Mocktail!
Old School Kiddie Mocktail (Roy Rogers Drink Recipe)
Old school classic kiddie mocktail made with Coca Cola, grenadine, garnished with maraschino cherries. If you were lucky, your drink arrived with your cherries spiked with a sword cocktail pick!
Growing up in the 70s and 80s, the Kiddie Mocktail (aka, Roy Rogers) and the Shirley Temple were go-to favorites for kids. We didn’t go out to dinner often, so it was a special treat to order these fancy drinks.
A fun memory that stands out were the sword picks for the cherries. I remember having sword fights at the table with the mini picks. No blood was ever drawn. 😉
During this long year at home we have made a lot of Shirley Temple and Roy Rogers drinks for holidays, birthdays and special occasions. **For the adults, you can spike the Shirley Temple with vodka and the Roy Roger with bourbon or whiskey.
Speaking of old school, who remembers these glasses? My sister surprised me with a set about five years ago. These are the same glasses my grandparents had in their kitchen growing up – Vintage Anchor Hocking “Wexford” pattern glassware, Flat Iced Tea and Double Old Fashioned glasses. Every time I open my kitchen cabinet and see these glasses I smile. #Sentimental

These are great!! Years ago we used to get a special drink at the drug store called a Green River. I have looked for years for the recipe but it has never been quite right. Would you by chance have a recipe for the Green River???? Thank you so much!!
