    Dog Heaven

On Friday afternoon, after 12 wonderful years, our sweet dog Piper received her angel wings.  Saying goodbye can be so difficult for children…adults too. Today our family was given the book, “Dog Heaven” by author Cynthia Rylant. This book was such a wonderful gift, so incredibly comforting – perfect for anyone, young or old, going through the loss of a beloved dog.

“When dogs go to Heaven, they don’t need wings because God knows that dogs love running best.  He gives them fields.  Fields and fields and fields.”

Thank you, Piper, for being the best dog in the whole wide world.  We love you and will miss you every single day, until we see your sweet face again in heaven.

A big hug and thank you to our friends, for this heartfelt gift.   ♥

Dog Heaven and Cat Heaven are available in book stores and online.

      Dear Mary,
I am so sorry about you sweet baby dog. I had to go through the same as my Nicholas who was a beautiful Maltese. He was and always will be my little guy and my best friend. I had began to be single and so I saw my nicks sweet little face and it was love at first sight. And when he turned 12 years old he was getting very sick. My heart was going through a devistating time dealing with his illness. That was in 2004, and seems like yesterday to me. God called him home and now I know that he is in no pain and he is running around those heavenly fields with alot of love going on up there. This makes me be able to still cope with him gone.
So god bless your family and keep the happy thoughts in your minds at all times. he is watching over all og you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My 12 year old Golden, Daisy passed this Monday and we are just completely crushed here. I know all too well what you're going through. They are a part of our family and so terribly missed.

Bloat is most common on deep-chested dogs and I've heard pros and cons to adjusting the height of water/food bowls for dogs. With a dog as big as a Great Dane, it is standard to have an elevated bowl. For your case, I'm not sure what would be the best to recommend in terms of height.
