Today I am sharing the tasty adult version for a childhood favorite drink – a vodka-spiked Shirley Temple, aka, Dirty Shirley.
Dirty Shirley Recipe (Easy)
The Dirty Shirley is a fun adult version of the sentimental childhood favorite mocktail, Shirley Temple. This delicious, easy to make drink has vodka, lemon-lime soda, grenadine, is served over ice and garnished with maraschino cherries. Cheers to growing up!
Shirley Temple was THE DRINK of my childhood. On special occasions my grandpa would order Shirley Temples for the grandkids, it was such a treat and one of my favorite childhood memories. *I’m sentimental and love to serve these nostalgic drinks in vintage Anchor Hocking “Wexford” pattern glassware (old school glasses), the same glasses my grandparents had growing up. A toast to them.
I carried on the tradition with my girls, ordering Shirley Temples on special occasions when they were little. The Dirty Shirley was actually introduced to me by my oldest, a recent college graduate. In March of 2020, when we were all stuck at home, we wanted to make things we would order going out to dinner, Shirley Temples and Dirty Shirleys were at the top of the list. Boy did we make a lot of them over the last two years.

According to the New York Times, the Dirty Shirley is the drink of summer! #HotGirlSummer
Not only is this a great summer drink, it’s perfect for parties, holidays, game night, any day of the week. 🙂
