An awesome dump and bake casserole that’s a cinch to make. This recipe calls for just a few ingredients you simply mix in a baking dish then toss in the oven. A delicious, filling meal that’s ready in an hour – a casserole the whole family will love and have them coming back for more!
This wonderful recipe is from Pillsbury – Garlic Cheddar Chicken Bake. I decided for my post today to call it, Cheesy Chicken & Rice Casserole, it seemed more fitting. What I love about this recipe is that it’s super easy to adapt to your taste by adding your favorite seasonings. Pair this with your favorite green veggie and a salad, you have yourself a winning dinner.
What you need – chicken tenders or breasts, butter, long-grain white rice, chicken broth, plain crispy panko bread crumbs, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, salt, pepper and fresh Italian parsley (optional).
To make – mix everything in the baking dish except the butter and panko crumbs and 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese, which is added the last few minutes of baking.

Cheesy Chicken and Rice Casserole
Recipe from Pillsbury – Garlic Cheddar Chicken Bake
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 cup plain panko crispy bread crumbs
- 1 package (approximately 14 ounces) chicken tenders (not breaded), cut into bite-size pieces – chicken breasts will work too
- 1 cup uncooked regular long-grain white rice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- fresh chopped Italian parsley (optional)
