Cheater Fried Ice Cream! No frying, simple to make…oh so good.

This easy family favorite dessert takes just minutes to make with a lot less mess.

You can serve this fried ice cream in these easy to make, Baked Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Bowls! Head over to my post for the simple step-by-step directions. The bowls are made with flour tortillas, butter and cinnamon sugar and baked in an oven safe dish. That’s it!

    Ingredients
    • Vanilla Ice Cream
    • Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal (I use almond)
    • Caramel Sauce
    • Cinnamon Sugar
    • Whipped Topping

    Directions
Pour cereal in a large storage bag that closes – use enough cereal to coat the amount of “fried” ice cream desserts you plan to make. In the bag, crush the cereal into tiny pieces. Next, scoop ice cream into a round ball, make whatever size you like.

Place the ball of ice cream in the bag, close it and pack the cereal onto the ice cream, like you are making a snowball.

Place ice cream in bowl and top with desired toppings – caramel, fudge, whipped cream, cherries, strawberries…have fun!  I always sprinkle a little cinnamon sugar on top! Enjoy!

Baked Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Bowls – head here for the simple and delicious recipe.

    Tip

For parties, you can make the ice cream balls ahead of time. Just place them in a plastic bag and pop them in the freezer…just wait to coat them in cereal right before serving, so they will be crunchy.

    Thanks for stopping by!
    Cheers!

Oh, I love this take on fried ice cream! 🙂 THey don't have it here in the UK at ANY Mexican restaurants & it always make me sad. Everytime we back to the states to visit, I get fried ice cream nearly every night we're there! lol. Now I can make it using this simple recipe! I wish I would have seen this earlier to have included it in my Cinco de Mayo recipes roundup. I've instead pinned it & WILL be making it soon! 🙂 Also, I’d like to invite you to come link up with me at my link party! I’d love it if you could stop by & link up some of your recipes!
