Ingredients
2
blocks
cream cheese (8 ounces each), softened at room temperature
5
ounces
gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
3
ounces
bacon, cooked
(I often cheat and use pre-cooked. If you make your own, applewood smoked bacon is the best)
¼
cup
green onion, chopped (green section)
6-8
ounces
apricot preserves
(use more for a sweeter taste)
dash
cayenne pepper
(optional)
Instructions
In a medium size bowl, mix everything together. Pour in serving dish and allow to chill for 1 hour.
Serve chilled with a fresh baguette or favorite crackers.
Notes
This is a copycat recipe of The Laundry’s legendary Apricot Gorgonzola Cheese Spread in Fenton, Michigan.
Tips
For a quick and easy 5 minute prep - use pre-cooked bacon!
For some extra kick and flavor, add a little cayenne pepper.
Use less cream cheese for stronger Gorgonzola taste.
Use more Apricot Preserves for sweeter taste.
You can use less or more green onion.
Taste test as you make it, to see what you like best!
