3D Paper Lovebirds for Valentine’s Day Decor

by Mary Neumann · 14 Comments

I’m still on my Valentines kick!  I love all the paper birds I’ve seen on Pinterest and decided to see what I could come up with.   I have lots of scraps around the house from all my projects – here is what I did with scraps and a bird template from Creative Comforts Blog…thank you for the inspiration!

Under $4 to make, including the $3 frame ~ that’s pretty darn good!

For the birds, I used leftover LOVE paper purchased at Hobby Lobby
from my daughter’s framed heart Valentine project.
I used scrap scrapbook paper for the matte,
jewelry wire, scissors, tape and a little hot glue…voila!
The glass was removed from the frame.
I cut out hearts from the LOVE paper to make
the wings and the dangling heart on the string.
I used a black crayon around the edges of the
birds to give them a more vintage look.

You can learn how to make the framed heart on the right in my
“My Love Affair with Frames“ post.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

    Cheers!
