My daughter asked me to make Mac & Cheese for her “Friendsgiving” party this week. Mac and cheese has been on our Thanksgiving menu for almost ten years. One year my sister made her famous mac and cheese, since then it’s THE side dish my family looks forward to every holiday season. Ingredients
- 16 ounces macaroni
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 3 1/2 cups 2% milk
- 8 ounces mild cheddar cheese, shredded
- 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

I use evaporated milk. Gives a great flavor

I tried this recipe. We use whole milk instead of skim or 2%. I diluted the whole milk with 1:1 ratio. The cheese mix was runny. Next time I’ll use whole milk or cream.
