Baked Macaroni & Cheese – Five Star Recipe

Today’s tried and true is a fantastic Mac & Cheese recipe from the food blog, Basil and Bubbly –  a five star recipe!

BEST-EVER BAKED MACARONI & CHEESE (FIVE STAR RECIPE)

This is one of the BEST Mac & Cheese recipes I have made to date. This Southern style recipe is rich, super cheesy and creamy, stick-to-your bones good. This is sure to be a hit during the holidays, but a dish you’ll want to make year round! Simple to make, so darn good.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese - Five Star Recipe

My daughter asked me to make Mac & Cheese for her “Friendsgiving” party this week. Mac and cheese has been on our Thanksgiving menu for almost ten years. One year my sister made her famous mac and cheese, since then it’s THE side dish my family looks forward to every holiday season. For this to-die-for, and a bit fancy ($$$) mac & cheese recipe (made with penne, Gruyere, Asiago, sharp cheddar and Parmesan cheese), head to Family Circle.

For my daughter’s party, I wanted to try a new recipe I pinned on Pinterest, it has tons of rave reviews – over 75 comments and photos.

Best Ever Baked Mac & Cheese
For the Friendsgiving party, I sent a 9×13 baking dish loaded with the yummy goodness.

MY REVIEW – Five stars, you’ll want to add this one to the recipe box! I made a double batch, saving a small 9×9 baking dish for our family. I love that this recipe can be made ahead and baked the next day – perfect for parties and holidays.

I tried this recipe. We use whole milk instead of skim or 2%. I diluted the whole milk with 1:1 ratio. The cheese mix was runny. Next time I’ll use whole milk or cream.

I made the mac & Cheese again for Thanksgiving, I used whole milk and didn’t dilute it and it came out perfect, Ann.
