Last night I made steaks for our family and we were out of steak sauce. The steaks we had were not top quality and desperately needed sauce. After a quick google search I found a great recipe on allrecipes.com with a 4 1/2 star rating and over 140 reviews. The recipe called for ingredients I had on hand in my kitchen – yay! In about five minutes I had a tasty, zesty sauce ready to serve with our steaks and fries.
This is a great recipe to have in your recipe box. My family loved it, I did too. I plan to start making my own for now on, saving money and never worrying about running out. My husband says it reminds him of Heinz 57, but better. He’s already looking forward to this sauce on his grilled burgers this summer.
What I love about this recipe is that it’s easy to adapt and tweak to your liking. Be sure to read the reviews on allrecipes.com for tips – like using soy sauce instead of Worcestershire, using spicy brown mustard instead of yellow, adding brown sugar and more.

I make something quite similar with the addition of about 4 tbsp. sugar and use it on lettuce salad. It sure beats having the fridge filled with all the original sauces.

I have all those ingredients on hand and 2 steaks in the freezer! Might have to try this tonight! 🙂
