- Kelly Thanksgiving Dressing
- Best Mac & Cheese EVER!
- Hot Clam Dip
- Apricot Gorgonzola Cheese Spread
For this week’s Tried & True Tuesday, I want to share a few of my family’s must-haves for Thanksgiving. I love the idea of having our family favorites in one location. If my husband, girls, family or friends need one the these recipes, all they have to do is click and print. How awesome is that?! The recipes below are a favorite of each family member.
The first recipe below is my husband’s favorite, Kelly Thanksgiving Dressing. This recipe has been around longer than me. Just like my grandpa’s Horseradish Cheese Spread, Thanksgiving is not Thanksgiving if this isn’t on the table. This dressing is pretty simple and includes the Thanksgiving turkey’s giblets. Did I just lose a few of you with the giblets? My husband didn’t grow up with this type of dressing, but when he had it for the first time over 18 years ago…it was an instant favorite.
The next recipe is my little one’s favorite – Mac & Cheese. This is a new addition to our Thanksgiving table the last few years. My sister found a great recipe in Family Circle Magazine that claimed to be the best Mac & Cheese ever! This killer mac & cheese is made with sharp cheddar, gruyere and asiago. My girls and husband agree – it’s the best ever.
Another recipe I’m sharing is one of my all time favorites, Hot Clam Dip. This recipe was introduced to the family by my Aunt almost 30 years ago. When this comes out of the oven, people fight to get at it…it’s that good. The best part, it only has 4 ingredients. It always amazes me how some of the yummiest recipes have so few ingredients!
My last recipe to share is my oldest’s favorite, and all my girlfriends’ favorite! This is a recipe I tried to recreate from one of my favorite cheese spreads of all time…Apricot Gorgonzola Cheese Spread from The Laundry in Fenton, Michigan. No words can describe how yummy this stuff is. Whenever I’m in Michigan, this a must have! I have had requests from friends to bring some back to Ohio! My attempt at recreating this spread is pretty good…but I still have to stop and buy the real deal whenever I’m in Michigan. This cheese spread has been on our Thanksgiving appetizer menu for years…it’s the one and only thing my oldest requests each year.
